“I am the eldest of 4 children. Between 1965 and 1970 I attended Millfield School in the county of Somerset as a boarder. I attended teacher training college at Westminster College, Oxford (No connection with the university) from 1972 to 1975 studying History and English. I taught in three schools in a 43 year teaching career. I became involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in Canada, traveling in support of Gold level expeditions mostly in the Rocky Mountains. I married in 1982 and have two adult children. Every year my wife and I host a Robbie Burns Night dinner. I love poetry, reading, travel, rugby and good company.”
